The International Rabbinic Fellowship is saddened by the continued friction within the Jewish community around the question of non-Orthodox Jews conducting prayer services in accordance with their religious practice in the Western Wall area. This has ramifications beyond local Israeli concerns and impacts on the unity and cohesion of the Jewish people as a whole and its connection to the State of Israel.

The International Rabbinic Fellowship expresses it shock and horror at the terrorist atrocity committed yesterday in Nice, France that claimed the lives of so many innocent victims. We stand in solidarity with the French people who have seen the murderous reach of terrorists strike their country so many times in the last year.

The International Rabbinic Fellowship strongly condemns the recent terrorist outrages against civilians from many countries at the Istanbul airport, in Bangladesh and Iraq and most recently the murders of our brothers and sisters in the Judean Hills near the city of Hebron including that of Hallel Ariel, age 14 from Kiryat Arba, and Miki Mark, age 48 and father of 10 from Otniel. We express our solidarity with the victims and the grief and pain of their families and loved ones.

The International Rabbinic Fellowship together with the whole house of Israel and the world community mourns the passing of Elie Wiesel zt"l. Mr. Wiesel, a teenage Holocaust survivor, later went on to become one of the most eloquent witnesses to its horrors and a spokesman for preserving the memory of the victims, their lives and the consequences of hate and bigotry.
