November 7, 2020
The International Rabbinic Fellowship joins the whole house of Israel, in mourning the passing of Lord Rabbi Jonathan Sacks zt"l. R. Sacks, former Chief Rabbi of The United Kingdom, one of the leading thinkers and teachers of our generation who eloquently presented a Torat Hesed of moral conviction and ethical integrity.
R. Sacks was a prolific writer, thinker and lecturer whose profound writings and speeches touched and inspired hundreds of thousands of people, both Jews and people of other faith communities. He was an eloquent spokesman for Judaism and its core teachings and a leading expositor of the power and beauty of faith in the modern world.
R. Sacks was a leading voice of an engaged Modern Orthodoxy, a passionate lover of the State of Israel and her people, and a living Kiddush Hashem (sanctification of God's name) in word and deed.
May his family be comforted by the Almighty among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem
