The International Rabbinic Fellowship, joins with the rest of the Jewish world in mourning the passing of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky zt"l.

Rav Chaim, as he was known to all, was an outstanding Talmudic scholar and viewed by many in the Lithuanian Haredi world as the leading rabbinic scholar of the generation.

Rav Chaim had an encyclopedic knowledge of Torah literature, was a paragon of constant immersion in Torah study and lived humbly and simply all his life. He opened his home and gave generously of his time to all who sought his halakhic ruling, counsel, advice and blessings.

May his family be comforted by the Almighty among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and may his memory be for a blessing.
